The City of Angola Planning & Economic Development Department administers applications for a Certificate of Appropriateness, Sign Permits, Special Exception Applications, Subdivision Application Primary, Subdivision Application Secondary, Variance Applications, Zone Change Applications, Development Plan Applications, Temporary Improvement Location Permits and Improvement Location Permits.
Step 2. The second step of the City of Angola Site Improvement Permitting Process is with the City of Angola Engineering Department. The City of Angola Engineering Department administers storm sewer connection permits, sanitary sewer connection permits, water system connection permits, water tap permits, excavation permits within the City rights-of-way and administers land disturbing permits.

The Building Safety Department is responsible for the issuance of Building Construction Permits, administration and enforcement of the statewide code of fire safety laws and building laws adopted by the Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission.
