Angola Main Street

“Promoting the heartbeat of our community.”

The purpose of Angola Main Street is to promote and develop a thriving downtown community through an organized effort that will market the community, enhance the aesthetics of the downtown area, and contribute to its vitality.  You can visit their website at www.downtownangola.org

In 2019, the Angola Main Street was voted as the 3rd Best Main Street organization in the State of Indiana during the Visit Indiana 2019 Best of Indiana people's choice campaign.

Angola Main Street is a group of individuals and organization representatives working together to help keep Angola's downtown area community thriving.

In January 2024 Angola Main Street was recognized by OCRA as a Nationally Accredited MAin Street. AMS wend through an onsite accreditation visit in November 2023 where they were evaluated on six standards, broad-based community commitment to revitalization, inclusive leadership and organizational capacity, diversified funding and sustainable program operations, strategy-driven programming, preservation-based economic development and demonstrated impact and results. The organization underwent a comprehensive evaluation against these standards to demonstrate its commitment to revitalizing and enhancing downtown Angola.

This prestigious recognition is a testament to the dedication and collaborative efforts of the entire community. National accreditation goes beyond being an honorarium; it significantly opens access to additional programs, resources, and funds. Angola Main Street’s accreditation unlocks opportunities for specialized trainings, networking with other programs, and grants that can further support our initiatives.

Angola MAin Street's  long-term vision is to collaborate with local organizations and businesses that share the same mission and vision as they do, and to develop a vibrant and accessible downtown with numerous gathering spaces. AMS aspires to collaborate with the City of Angola to enhance wayfinding in the downtown area and improve spaces by incorporating murals and local art to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
