Tree Memorial Program

Angola Memorial Tree Program

A memorial tree is the ideal way to remember the passing of a loved one. For a minimum donation of $75 you may honor a special person in the Angola Parks Memorial Tree Program. All memorial trees will be hardwood varieties and planted on park property. A bronze leaf will be engraved with the memorialized person’s name and placed on a bronze tree plaque in the original Tree Memorial Area.

The Program started on Arbor Day 2001. Since its inception there have been 395 memorial trees planted in the Angola Parks.

A memorial tree is a noble living remembrance and will live long after we are gone. These special trees will enhance our world and be enjoyed by generations to come. As we all know, the value of a tree can’t be judged in monetary terms alone. They purify our air, provide wildlife habitat, and beautify our world. A donation of the bronze tree plaque was received from the parents of Abigail Weible to honor her memory. The Memorial Tree Area in Commons Park is just off of Circle Hill Dr. This has been such a popular program that not only have we outgrown the Memorial Tree Display but have run out of room to plant the memorial trees. With a new display and expanding the planting area to all areas of Angola’s Park’s, we hope to allow for growth of the program for many years to come.

If you would like to make a Memorial Tree Donation you may pick up a brochure at City Hall, the Park Office, or on the City website www.angolain.org. Call the Park Office at 260-665-1588 for more information.
